Do you treat Bees?
No. Due to the high level of call outs of bees mistaken for wasps there will be a call out charge of £35. If in doubt please feel free to ask us or contact the Suffolk Beekeepers.
How long does it take for a nest to die?
This depends on access to the nest, if we are able to inject straight into the nest then the nest should be dead in around 4 to 5 hours. We always advise waiting at least 72 hours for nests to die off completely.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes. In the unlikely event, the nest survives the treatment then we will return to re-treat at no extra charge.
Why are Wasps so dangerous?
If you are stung by a wasp because you disturb it, then it is possible to suffer a severe allergic reaction called anaphylactic shock that can lead to death. Most people though have no such reaction. Once the wasp stings it releases a pheromone and this causes the wasps in the nest to flood out and attack. If the nest is a large the number of stings can be in the hundreds and can overwhelm the body, again leading to life threatening conditions.
How many wasps are in the nest?
This will depend on the time of year. Later in the season nests can contain upto 25,000.
